For the past several years, we’ve been dreaming of a better place to discuss our shared interest in film. When we couldn’t find exactly the right online vehicle for this, we decided to create one. Letterboxd is the result, and it’s now in public beta (hit us up via email or Twitter for an invitation code if you’d like to try it out). The site allows you to keep an online diary of films you watch (or have seen sometime in the past). You can rate, review and tag films as you add them; find and follow your friends to see what they’re enjoying; keep a watchlist of films you’d like to see; and create lists/collections on any given topic, for example: favourite heist films. The service also offers importing of historic data from several popular apps, and the ability to add films to your US Netflix instant queue, if you use that service.
